Automating tasks with task, a modern successor to make.

To manage our tasks we can use the task runner task, which is more modern than the traditional make utility.

Installation

The install sub-command of the pkgx command simply creates a shim.
The shim will cache the task binary if it is not already cached, before executing it.
~/ $ pkgx install taskfile.dev
pkgx: installed: ~/.local/bin/task
~/ $ task
 ✓  ~/.pkgx/taskfile.dev/v3.30.1
task: No Taskfile found at "/Users/david_delavennat/"
  1. The task binary is cached at ~/.pkgx/taskfile.dev/v3.30.1
